Full planning permission was granted recently by Redditch Borough Council for nine commercial units for Class B2, B8 and E(g) (iii) uses.  Following a positive recommendation to Planning Committee and with minimal debate at the Committee itself, Members saw the benefits the units would deliver in the Borough and voted heavily in favour.

The site is located in an excellent position within an existing employment area however from a planning point of view it was not without its challenges, including a 45 m radio tower, a Local Wildlife Site and a public right of way which ran through the site. From undertaking an initial Planning Appraisal to working with Officers at the Council during the application process, Hourigan Planning provided planning advice from start to finish, including influential discussions on conditions to assist our client being able to move quickly to make a start on site.

The site is in a strategic position on a key arterial route within the Midlands and whilst the site is in an employment area, the unique landscaping constraints and prominent location on a busy highway junction meant that a lot of hard work went into making sure that Officers were satisfied the units would complement the streetscene in a positive way.

The client’s consultant team worked hard together to address Officers concerns whilst delivering a commercially-astute for our client.
