Planning Approval Secured for Major Employment Development at Broadway Green, Oldham

We are pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted for a new employment development at Plot 2000, Lydia Becker Way, Broadway Green, Oldham.

The approved scheme will deliver a range of high-quality industrial, logistics and business units across the final undeveloped employment parcel within the Foxdenton Strategic Site. Representing a £22 million investment, the development is expected to support significant economic growth, creating new jobs during both the construction and operational phases.

The application was presented to Oldham Planning Committee by Niall Mellan, Associate Director, who highlighted the scheme’s economic benefits, sustainability credentials and compliance with the site’s long-established employment allocation.

A key aspect of the project was the close collaboration between our client’s scheme and an adjoining residential site to the south, being brought forward by a housebuilder. Working with the housebuilder, the design and layout of the development were carefully coordinated to ensure the employment and residential uses could be delivered in tandem without causing unacceptable impacts on one another. This included the orientation of buildings away from new homes and the incorporation of noise mitigation measures agreed with the Council’s Environmental Health team.

The approved development will provide modern, sustainable accommodation for small and medium-sized businesses, helping to support continued investment and job creation in Oldham.
