Hourigan Planning are delighted to have supported the successful planning approval for a 41-home affordable housing development in Westby, Fylde on behalf of Bowsall Developments..

The scheme, on the Former Clock Garage site off Preston New Road, will deliver 100% affordable housing and make an important contribution towards meeting local housing needs within the borough.

Our involvement included leading the pre-application engagement process with Fylde Council, coordinating and managing the public consultation exercise, and working closely alongside the wider consultant team to prepare and submit the planning application. We also prepared the Planning Statement and managed the application throughout the determination process through to a successful outcome.

The application involved addressing a range of technical and planning considerations, including ecology, layout design, residential amenity and highways matters. Through collaborative working with the local authority and consultant team, the scheme evolved positively during the application process and was ultimately recommended for approval by officers.

We were also pleased to support the application at Planning Committee, where Associate Director Niall Mellan spoke on behalf of the proposal ahead of Members resolving to grant planning permission.

The approved development will provide a high-quality residential scheme delivering much-needed affordable homes, public open space and biodiversity enhancements in a sustainable and accessible location.
