We are delighted to have secured full planning permission for a 282,000 sqft employment development at the Findel Complex in Greengate, Oldham just 13 weeks after the application was submitted. Working closely with the consultant team and our client Royal London we were able to successfully persuade the Council’s Officers to recommend that full planning permission should be granted. Niall Mellan appeared at Oldham’s Planning Committee and presented the scheme to Members who unanimously resolved to grant planning permission with some Members complementing the scheme’s benefits. The scheme aims to be a market-leading development in terms of its sustainability credentials and is estimated that once delivered it will provide over 250 new jobs and significant economic investment for Oldham. We are looking forward to seeing this one come off the ground!
We contributed to the planning application as follows:
- Carried out pre-application discussions with the Council and engaged with Ward Councillors prior to submission.
- Coordinated the full planning application and completed a supporting Planning Statement and other relevant planning documents required for the application.
- Worked closely with the Council’s officers and statutory consultees to deal with any issues raised in collaboration with the consultant team.
- Secured a standalone Prior Notification Application for the Demolition of all buildings at the site allowing the demolition phase to be carried out in advance of the main works therefore speeding up the build programme for our client.
- Presented the scheme to Oldham Council’s Planning Committee securing a unanimous resolution to grant planning permission.
