Working alongside Tom Withers Architecture, Hourigan Planning has obtained full planning permission for 3 bespoke detached dwellings in the Cheshire Green Belt. Overlooked by the picturesque ‘Cloud’ landscape to the north of Congleton, the new dwellings will replace the vacant and derelict Robin Hood public house. We prepared a robust submission which demonstrated that the development would not comprise inappropriate development in the Green Belt. Whilst the loss of a once well-loved public house is unfortunate, the business had not been viable for some time and the Cheshire East Council agreed that the proposals would comprise sustainable redevelopment.
Working with Prime Transport, PGLA Landscape Architects, Betts Geo Consulting Engineers and Rachel Hacking Ecology we were also able to demonstrate that the new homes would not harm highway safety or the sensitive landscape. The Council accepted the proposals would secure appropriate drainage and would not harm ecological interests and would deliver net gains for biodiversity.
The site will be developed by a local builders Barlow & Dawson Developments and we look forward to seeing the end result.
