Hourigan Planning (Chartered Town Planners) is preparing a full planning application on behalf of joint applicants Bowsall Developments Ltd and Housing 21 for the provision of 47 affordable retirement apartments across 0.68 hectares of predominantly previously developed land at Sydney Cottage Farm, Herbert Street, Crewe, Cheshire, CW1 5LZ. The proposals which will form part of the planning application also include the creation of new habitats for local wildlife, a promise of enhanced biodiversity and the retention of the existing pond.

 

The proposals will also provide the opportunity for new tree planting around the perimeter and within the site itself. To facilitate the development we are also proposing to divert the existing footpath that crosses the site. As things currently stand pedestrians have to navigate an existing operational yard to access the countryside beyond and this is far from ideal. The final scheme will ensure that pedestrians can still cross the site but in a safer manner than existing conditions.
